Houston interior designers earn local ASID Ruby Awards

The ASID Texas Gulf Coast Chapter celebrated a year of great design with its 2019 Ruby Awards Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Asia Society.

Top Best In Show honors were given in three categories, for industry partner, commercial and residential design.

Sarah Herndon of Herndon Design won the Best In Show award from among the residential categories. Her entry won in the residential small firm singular space category for a home office she designed.

Belinda Bennett of Bennett Design Group and Heitkamp Swift Architects won Best In Show in the from among all of the commercial categories. Their entry was for their treatment of a 20,000 square foot retreat and spa.

A group from Skyline Art Services — Charles White, Linh Lam and Kirk Bauer — with Jane Medina of Quality Service Floorcovering, Staci Tave, BOKA Powell and Tonya Williams won Best In Show from among the industry partner categories for their wall art they created in the elevator lobby of a chemical production company.
